Faunsdale, AL | Daughter in Birmingham called and says that the streets have become parking lots full of folks trying to get home after less than 1" of snow. There's too many steep streets and on-ramps etc for unprepared southern drivers to handle it. She says there is ice too, so maybe it really is that bad.
News outlets are recommending that folks who are at work etc where it's warm, to stay there.
