Red River Valley | The smaller amount of carryover in farmers bins from last years short crop deal would be consistent in any year of a short crop so why didn't we see this in other short crop years ??
as for the bigger crop in the south would make some difference I suppose but hardly make up for a lot of the difference.
then when one considers the size of the drop in prices, the fact that because of that drop most everybody that raised close to a normal crop would have a Ins. payment, the fact that the crop was undersold right into the harvest time frame- at least everybody stated that they were not selling at these low prices and lastly with all of the new farm storage built in the last few years by farmers that we were all told are "flush with cash" it just seems hard to understand how the numbers are that far from the norm.
