Subject: So much good talk about tracks what is the bad.

Bardstown,KY
I have a 8300 MFD and when we are not farming we do dirt work with a 12 yard scraper and my tractor just gets me by .How big of a track tractor would I need to out pull the 8300. There is no tracks in my area so I know nothing about them. How do the ride compared to 8300 ,if I had the planter tractor go down will the tracks leave birms at the end pulling a 30-40ft impl-.If im building a lake can I run side ways without damage to the tracks.
I run nothing but deere on the farm but when it comes to a dozer I want a cat , so I would not mind to have a cat tractor. When I bought my 8300 I was thinking of buying a track tractor but let my dealer talk me out of buying tracks because he said the are high dollor to maintain, but on the other hand he has never been around one. I see some cats online going for $40-50,000 but the tracks look worn to me would they be a bad buy. Somebody needs to tell me the bad because on this forum I hear only good. Thanks Todd
