Renville Minnesota | "Newguy, does a light rain seem to affect for yield monitor? Last year we shelled corn in a light mist, almost a fog, a couple times & it really got off. I have also noticed green patches, beans or weeds, affecting the monitor." Yup, Yup, Yup, and Yup.................... YM's are not our freinds, Digi-star scale on the grain cart has always (knockin on wood) been within 20 pounds of the elevator scales. Wish we had more patience with the YM, but...............oh well. Not sure how or why, but neighbors seem to drool over their "liar boxes". They are worthless in Navy's. Stems are usually somewhat green, unless we get a good kill, which has been rare. Disclaimer: The term "liar box" is not mine. Heard the local Deere mechanic say it as he was walking out the dealer door to go look at one. As good as Yeild monitors are, he does have a point. Some guys seem to remember the big numbers and forget the low ones.................Its happened to me on occasion. :^) |
