Subject: RE: Yield monitor accuracy try #2

Remington, IN
Once I went to the elevator mount for the moisture sensor, those erratic problems ended. I would assume that it is not accurate all the time, but in the size samples that I have taken (6rn * 1/4 mile on up) they have been remarkably accurate. I still check loads that go to town often against the monitor, but they have been so close that I have rarely entered them into the PF3000 because there seemed to be no point in doing it. I'm almost afraid to monkey with it. We haven't done high moisture corn (~25% or higher for years, so that would probably throw a curve ball at it), so that would require me to calibrate a "corn2" in the monitor. I should point out that when we first put it in ('97), that I did a painstaking calibration according to the book that seemed to set the foundation from then on.
