Aggieland | Id take a good hard look at the Nissan if I was in the market. Dad has a Nissan Frontier 4cyl 5 speed that he DID treat like at least a half ton (closer to a 3/4ton), he used it as his service truck doing hvac work, full ladder rack and loaded to the brim with parts and tools not to mention my 300lb brother in the passenger seat all day. He gave that truck to me while I was at A&M and it had 240K miles, had been through 3 clutches and 3 alternators (later to discover it was a bad lot of autozone alts) and spark plugs only at that time. I put a new timing chain and tensioners (it broke as I was unloading off the trailer from trucking it to college), waterpump, harmonic balancer and tires on it while I had it for 2 years. After seeing the hell that my dad put that truck through and never burned up the engine or transmission I am impressed. The truck doesnt get used much anymore but if you needed it itd run.
