dmswil - 8/20/2013 08:30 Just so you can't accuse me of killing the crop I will say that my own beans which were all planted the second week of June could be a record. Have never seen them look this good at this point. Have never been short of moisture. Just need one more rain around Labor Day to fill them out.

 

Not to be a downer but that sounds like the perfect setup for a real disappointment, ie lots of straw, not many beans.  

It seems that in order for us to have really good beans "here" they need to be moisture stressed prior to setting/filling pods.     

 

Hopefully its as good as it looks.
