If the ground is wet enough to hurt corn and beans the alfalfa would likely drown out. Alfalfa doesn't like wet feet and if soil stays saturated for several weeks it will die. For alfalfa you need a pH close to 7 and lots of P&K fertilizer. Each ton you haul off you will need to apply 50# of K and 12# of P just to replace what you took off. If you grow any amount of hay you need to get some cows for yourself. Then you can market the rained on, wet, and any other hay with issues through some beef cows and not have to sell 100% of it.
