Germany decided it was better to keep their farmers on the farms rather than chasing them out of business with low prices and having them doing nothing besides collecting welfare checks since there was little work for the farmers in town. As a result of price controls, a German farmer doesn't have to chase over 4,000 hectares to make a living like we farmers have to do here in the U.S.. | |
