Glasgow, Ky | Something very similar happened in the ag sector in the late 70's. Many PCA's were agressively loaning money for ag expansion. When it crashed in the early 80's many of the farmers who were highly leveraged and wound up in financial trouble blamed it on the PCA's. In essence they said the PCA's should not have loaned it to them if they (the farmers) could not repay it.
Strongly resembles the subprime today. Anyone out there remember those times? | |
