NE CO | That is certainly my case. I have about 20% of my farm in CRP, and I hope the program continues and I don't have to break it back out and farm it. Most of it was broken out of pasture in the boom of the 80's and should never have been farmed. If it comes back into production, it will be lower production, higher cost of production, and will slowly erode away. In fact, much of it will revert back to grazing, although the CRP grasses aren't as desirable for cattle as the native species. | |
