when you look at the twines on the broken bale, if the broken side twine has a knot on one end and none on the other end, you have what is called "twine finger mistie". to correct this make sure the half moon disc on top of the needle slot is in the correct position - it should have the point just into the slot 1/8 " to 1/4" when the knotter is in neutral, and about the same as the side that is not missing. if they are not the same , first check for a bent twine crank and then if it is straight, use the adjusting rod to put the twine finger disc in the correct position. in some instances, where the material being baled is very springy, plunger face extensions may be required, to give the knot time to form before material tension starts to pull on the knot.

hope this helps

I am trying to follow what you are saying here. When you are referring to the broken side twine knot, are you implying that the knot was tied and the twine broke after a properly tied knot, or are you referring to one of the two twines having a loop and the other half not having a loop?
