The 'sweep' of the knife arm and twine disc timing determine the length of the twine tails at the knot. A small difference in either can give random misties, especially when crowding capacity. Also, as suggested, slightly poor bale shape can contribute. Stand a bale from that heavy spot on end and see if it isn't a little longer on the side that is giving trouble.
