Would a piece of 2 x2 angle iron with one side cut at a taper to match the 1 inch gap at the north jamb and 2 inches at the south jamb. Then secure it to the center pipes somehow to keep it from popping out. Drop the tappered end in the gap with the 2" untouch side up against the door. Hit it with a hammer in the winter if it freezes down.
