2hcattle - 4/14/2013 18:54 Those cows are fat! Especially for coming out of a tough winter. I like your young bull also. I want them in good condition for lactation and breed back, but whatever condition they are in is 98% from free choice hay in feeders only. Maybe 99%. But they have gone through a LOT of hay this tough winter. The young bull is interesting. He has a very good SC. And even though he is only 12-1/2 months old, born April 3, 2012, he seems ready to go. It will be interesting to see what he weighs when I can get him through the alley and scale. I'm thinking he is right about 1050 lb or so now. He seems like solid muscle. He is out of my best cow and should be able to further my goals (long, low, easy calving, 50% weaning weight, etc) on a lot of cows and heifers. Thanks. Jim
