I would agree on no-tilling it even though it will be a real pain the first year bouncing over it. Anything you try to do in the spring is going to require multiple trips and unless you run a garden tiller through it you are never going to get the sod broke up enough to work it down smooth. If you no-till beans into it this year by next spring the sod will be dead enough that one pass with a field cultivator will level it up and make a nice seedbed. The only other option I see is to plow it but then in a wet spring you end up with a mudd mess and in a dry spring you loose all your moisture trying to work it back down. |
