Holy cow!!

Check the regen rate on the thing if isn't on demand, and if it is, you have something wrong.

As for the effect of the sodium chloride in the septic tank and leach field, yes. Unless you have 20 people taking showers and flushing toilets and dilluting things in the tank, you're killing the bacteria that break down the solids. The Leachfield will get ridiculously saturated with the salt at the rate you are going, and yes, you'll be killing trees if you aren't already.
That is a LOT of salt.

Our usage is one 40lb bag every 4 months, for two people, removing 20 grains hardness.
Kinetico on demand is about as efficient as it gets though.
