I was amazed to see UHT milk in the refrigerated aisle in the U.S.
In Europe it's always sold in 1 liter cartons, usually a 6-pack, unrefrigerated because of its long life.
You refrigerate the carton just before using it if you need cold milk, or after it's been opened.
Most UHT milk is organic or goat, I assume because they don't sell as frequently as normal cow milk.
(bio=organic, lait=milk, casino=a French "hypermarket", Costco like, without the yearly subscription)
