Subject: RE: Adding Molasses

King City, Mo
I've been doctering wheat straw bales with qlf molasses since late july. Tried doing it a few different ways and it's a mess no matter what. I use 2.5 gallon jugs, and have a 550 gallon tank on a trailer. It was cheaper to get the tank at orschlens then drive 2.5hrs for used mini bulks.

I'm only putting 10 gallon per bale. Some days they aren't as interested but most days eat the bale up well. Feeding 3-4lbs of 14% pellets too to the cows plus some real hay rationed out threw the week. I don't have a hay processor, or mixer or feed wagon so just trying to get by this year and so far it's working. just keeping my eyes open for better ideas.....

The 10 gallon is costing me $23/bale plus my time/labor.
