I have custom farmed for several different guys and I think it is a lot easier to do all the managing and not just the farming. I only do it for a couple of guys now and they tell me to do everything the way I would do it if it was all mine. I order the seed and fertilizer right when I order mine and it all gets stored together and it is there when I need it in the spring. When I custom farmed for someone that wanted to buy his own inputs I would end up having to run home for his delivery guy to bring out 20 or 30 bags of seed and a couple of weeks later they would do it again. I would also have to make sure the planter would be empty before switching fields and everything was a lot more work when they did the management instead of letting me do it.
