Warburg, AB

BSchroeder - 11/22/2012 16:16 Thomas Malthus predicted it would happen more than a century ago. Hunger and starvation are almost always an economic problem not a technology problem. If Africa adopted an American-style government, Africans would be as fat as Americans.
Wouldn't that mean they have to stop killing each other and actually work together? :| How is it that most of the continent hasn't visibly progressed in the last few millenia? Other than Egypt, South Africa, and a few other select places, I (maybe ignorantly) don't see any other major change there. The Egyptians BUILT THE PYRAMIDS. Don't tell me they didn't have a surplus of labour or food or other resources. Nobody spends years, decades building them if they can't afford it, one way another. Cheap labour helps but obviously some of them supported it, or else there would have been some form of uprising or rebellion. Bruce
