I am aware of that, of course. But the fact remains that resources are not limitless. Technology can only carry us so far before we begin to realize the toll we are taking on the land, air, and water. How many species should die so that all humans can feast on Big Macs and drive SUVs and irrigate their lawns? We are already to the point where not everyone can live like this.
