"Housekeeping" is a dreaded greeting for me too.  It's a selfish approach to getting you out so they can finish early.  Usually it's only a problem when the motel isn't full.  I agree with your gripes but you would have been better served just to ask the desk for a peaceful stay the next time.  I think you could get your wish if you were the bigger person when addressing the problem.

With that said, I know how frustrating it is to be distrubed before check out time.  The free breakfast that so many offer is also used to get the guests out of the room as early as possible.  When you check into the room around midnight, as I often do when driving, it gets to be hard to make it to breakfast with the whole family before 9:00am.
