Nc Ks. | I farm some heavy clay soils that stay wet a long time and I think that compaction is the main culprit. I like the looks of the guys around here that have those minimum disturbance rippers. I know the no-till guys tell you to stay off of that ground until it is dried out, but if I was to tell one of my landlords I wasn't harvesting his crop until the ground got good and dry, I probably wouldn't be farming it next year. On my better ground that isn't clay, I feel the water infiltration is better and erosion less because of no-till. | |
