happycatcher - 11/3/2012 14:15 Their sitter is our next door neighbor. I would not drink any amount of alcohol and drive period. I don't have issue with a glass of wine or beer while fishing so I don't think I need to boycott alcohol...just not drink it when I have stuff planned.

"boycott" ??   Now there is an interesting concept!  I wouldn't think of boycotting those responsible individuals in the business of promoting the consumption of, and selling, alcohol.  They need that money far more than you and your kids do.  The responsible thing to do is to put their addiction to selling first over your well being and the safety of the community;.  Thanks for the insight.

Would there be a way to assure yourself that none of your crops would ever go into the production of alcohol or that you never use any residual products from making alcohol for farming?

My remarks were tongue in cheek.  The young lady appears to be confused about what it takes to be a responsible individual.  It is not a "boycott" of alcohol that is required to do the right thing for herself and her kids.  I guess if her man has deep pockets and she has a good job and they can afford the sitter and the alcohol, and she prefers to have someone else raising her kids, then that is the right and "responsible" thing for her.

I just wanted her to look beyond the drama and see how she portrays herself on these pages.  She wants society to care for the homeless, the alcoholics and the downtrodden, but does not seem to have a clue as to what often lies near the base of those problems . . . alcohol consumption.  Certainly alcohol consumption is often a result of the depression caused by emotional and economic circumstances.  But the consumption never amounts to a cure for the problems, it only exacerbates them.
