| When I worked for Women's Protective Services, it scared me to see how quickly I became a person who felt less compassion and more exasperation. More often than not the women went back to abusive households and it didn't take long before I started having a hardened attitude towards the women who came in. I wasn't uncaring but I also didn't have the same care I did when I first started. It was difficult to care like I was supposed to when it became a job. | |
