It doesn't matter if they are just having a beer for lunch. Commerical cdls are very touchy about booze and drugs. It gives the professional drivers that follow the rules a bad name. What would have have happened if they got into a wreck just after leaving the bar for lunch and killed somebody. Headline's " Drunk semi driver kills somebody after leaving the bar" or somewhat to that effect. It is not pretty.

Did you read the quote above from the DOT rules? It DOES matter if they just had a beer for lunch. If they're legal then what's the problem? Is it the beer they had or is it the BTO label that came up in the original post?

Doesn't matter if you're killed by a Mercedes, a commercial vehicle or a combine driven by a drunk farmer, dead is dead.
