| My question to you guys not spring tagging now, how on earth do you sort em without taking twice as long in the spring? I mean if you pen em seperate to work the calves when the cows arent there how do you know what calves go with what cows? Ive got alot of calves that look identical every spring, without tags, and were in a pen togther with no cows, I could NEVER tell em apart.
I run all my cows and calves through the chute together (a few weeks before they're weaned). All the calves get number tags at that point so I can see which calf number is nursing which cow before weaning them.
