Subject: Re: John Deere SwathControl

Fulton County Ohio
Is the control box the rate controller? Dealer has refused to supply a replacement. They did send it back to Deere for testing. It passed, even with the rattle. Additional testing will be done when Deere gets the correct equipment to perform said testing. It has been in their hands over a month. Settings were done by dealer according to the book. If settings were wrong or the clutches were failing, why would it function correctly when the planter is not raised? Two planters. One with swathcontrol. Each has had one clutch replaced.

When new the setup required swaping wires in the harness to function. There are four leads to the clutches. I use two. This is contrary to the documentation and d-tech. Recently the leads were swaped as well as trying to return harness to original configuration as a test. Clutches only function in altered position. All work done by dealer and Deere district service rep. It may be a simple system, but it has not functioned correctly since day one. All I want is a system that works as advertised.
