East Central South Dakota | Why would oil companies displace their product with ethanol if it is not mandated ? We have been fighting the blending wall for a decade. If it is not mandated i doubt if it would survive because of the blending wall. The plants that would survive would be a small fraction of what we have today and yes i believe it would be closer to 5 billion bushels lost than 3 billion lost. The dry milling plants would probably all be gone.
So you are fine with destroying a whole industry, that is mainly farmer and rural mainstreet money so Cargill can come in and buy for 25 cents on the dollar. That last thread pretty much supports my argument on Cargills stance on ethanol and is pretty sad. You pretty much tipped your hand on that one. I for the most part enjoy your comments and insight to the grain business, but that last thread is just sad, and shows where your loyalties lie. For the first time in history there is as much money or more on the production side than the processing or grain merchant side and it is getting more obvious who the producers friends are and aren't. |
