I agree Boog. I had 70 bpa sold in August of 2011 when we were approaching 60 days with no rain. Sure wish I'd had double the crop to sell at the highs, but I was fairly confident we would harvest at least that much. The fact remains he needs to have a pretty solid idea of whether he can harvest 40, 70, 90 bpa or whatever, and the only way to estimate that is with a bunch of time in fields and some actual weights. Especially for those people who have been lucky enough so far to have never seen a corn crop under a whole bunch of stress. And there is a meaningful amount of people playing this game who don't have that experience, which is where all the crying wolf and then being surprised in the combine at how good it is comes from.

Now, if it is so bad that there are no ears, no pollination to worry about, then forget all this, forget getting the combine ready, and go to the lake because you can't do anything except make yourself miserable by looking at it anymore.
