| WCIL, trust me you are in the best possible position you can be with zero sold. There are some smart things you can do if you are for certain in a claim situation. For starters, assuming you are going to put a combine in the crop and not a disk or batwing, I would not get anxious about selling any physical bushels until you can evaluate pollination. In fact, ideally I would wait till you get maybe half milkline and can do a bunch of scouting and make a fairly accurate estimate with actual ear weights. Doing a whole bunch of sweaty miserable walking in fields may pay you nice dividends. Email is good if you want to hash any ideas out with somebody who learned way too much about crop insurance in 2010 and 2011. | |
