NW TN, Dyersburg
This is only my second year to have center pivots, put one up last yr and another last March, both are 180 degree wipers. My advice to you would be to "do it". I seriously doubt that you would ever regret it. In my area, when the first one goes up on a farm, you can bet there'll be more to follow. And by all means, go with electricity if you have that option. With your off farm job, you would benefit by adding Tracker to your control panel, then you can control and monitor it from your smart phone (and get a msg/call if the copper thieves kill the power). It's very satisfying being able to water at least a portion of the crop in such a dry year as this and it's making a huge difference.
