Frustrated Farmer

Subject: RE: Washing machine advice

Silver Lake, Kansas
Mrs. Farmer here. I had a front loader Frigidaire for three years. Did a fine job cleaning, but the big front door gasket blew twice. It is $400 to replace each time. The second time it blew and due to needing a machine with click instead of a digital display and touch pad due to vision issues we got a new top load HE Whirlpool. Had it about 5 months now and it handles Mr. Farmer's dirty work clothes. It is noted in consumer reports that some of the top loaders are harder on clothes. I have noticed that on bath towels. But the machine cost was less than replacing the door gasket.
