Subject: RE: Did AT&T live up to its rural broadband promises?

Hillsboro, AL

AT&T teamed with Directway to offer satellite internet.  I think that was their answer to rural broadband.  As a former satellite user, I don't consider satellite to be very reliable broadband.  It is the option of last resort.  We have fibre optic telephone cable running right in front of the house.  We have been trying to get broadband on it for years.  First from Bellsouth and then AT&T.  The reply is always there are not enough potential customers on the line for it to be profitable.  In my opinion AT&T has not lived up to its promise.
