Had a guy stop us once while haling liquid manure...asked if we could stay 1/4 mile from his house...it is a 20 acre field running along his drive and within 100 yards of his house...answer was ahhhh nope. Organic fertilizer should be the best or so we thought. We did hold off til the wind was blowing right toward his house then laid it on right up to legal limit. Was a nice warm spring day, pretty sure his windows were open when he left that morning. OH did i mention he had sheets among other clothing on the clothes line?? :)
I'm very sorry, but I have to say this: Is it any wonder that, when people hear of a large animal confinement operation being proposed, that they show up and protest? I would guess that the homeowner is not going to have a very good opinion of any farmer after a incident like this. Maybe I'm wrong? |
