At this house it definitely would have been a sin to not be out of the house by 8. I may never know for sure because I never had opportunity to stay in the house so late into the day like that ha ha.

Dad rigidly held to an early schedule especially in later years following his 3 month stay in the nursing home to heal a broken hip. Up and at 'em at 2AM. Do an hours worth of leg exercises which I had to assist with. Breakfast at 4AM. I had a lot of winter chores done by daylight.

Dad also had a rigid bedtime schedule of 4PM he adhered to religiously. This was Dad's advantage over my youthfulness because I didn't go to bed until 7 or 8 in winter or maybe 9 or 10 in summer.

I can look back and laugh about it now. I was in my mid-20's back then. Nowdays a schedule like that would finish me off LOL!
