Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80 | Our steel braces, will get a little bow to them, as we attach the top lag screw, first, then I pull upwards, hard, on the bottom, lower end of steel brace, while Dad starts the last lag bolt.
We want pressure , on that steel brace, right from the start.
Braces, going absolutely straight across, is OK from people, using post hole diggers, but we use post pounder, and it would be too hard to get that upper end of second post, EXACTLY the perfect distance, for a straight bar.
If we always put the second post a little close, to corner post, then we are assured the brace WILL fit tightly, inbetween those two post. (Basically, we use the brace(at an angle) as our measurement, for that "second" post entry point, into the ground, then pound away. |
