Near Richmond, IN | Here in Indiana I've used small claims 2-3 times and always won the judgement. Getting them to pay is a little harder but "here" once I get the judgement and they don't pay, then the sheriff is supuposed to go out and take property equal in value to the judgement. I've even used that once but the person paid up when the sheriff showed up at their place to collect property. Seems to work pretty well here, although I had to contact one of our legislators to light a fire under the sheriff so he would do his job-as required by law here. | |
