Maybe we need to first define "margarine". I happen to use a product called "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter"- ICBIN, for short. Is that considered "margarine" ? So, here's the scoop on ICBIN: on the box of ICBIN, it gives a comparsion of ICBIN versus butter: - both are listed as 100 calories - both are listed as 11 grams total fat - ICBIN is listed as 3.5 grams saturated fat, whereas butter is listed as 7 grams saturated fat - both are listed as 0 grams trans fat - ICBIN is listed as 0 grams cholesterol, whereas butter is listed as 30 mg cholesterol. First ingredient on the box for ICBIN is vegetable oil blend (soybean oil, palm oil, canola oil, palm kernal oil); and the 2nd listed ingredient is whey (milk). now, tell me, which of these products makes it "one molecule from being plastic" ? My question is...... would you rather support a soybean farmer? or a dairy farmer? Moot question, if you ask me. |
