some trueth to that,after feeding a couple experimental pens went back to cracking-cost me less then 1/2cent a bushel to crack per bushel-even a 1% advantage is 6cents a bushel advantage-more so when its dryer corn,I think if monse just went to corn it would help over oats,having a cracker he could set his roller tighter for oats and also roll them-if I had a steam flaker with a cheap natural gas hook-up that would be the best?Guess a small investment in feed equipment is minor when the calves are costing $1000 a head?
