Ohio
It breaks at the tube frame just ahead of the drill box when folded. On the older versions its a butt weld to a plate in between the two tube sections that angle down to the hitch. The newer ones have gusset plates welded to the sides of the joint, which is how mine is welded now after it broke. If you look for cracks you may not see any as mine broke clean off as there were no rusty cracks that showed after the break. There is a tremendous load on that joint in transport position with full seed hoppers and the opposite tremendous load in field position pulling with a big tractor in soft ground. I'm surprised mine didn't break in a mud hole being pulled out with my big Cat? Instead mine broke in transport which destroys several openers, stretches hyd hoses and wiring harnesses. If yours is the earlier butt welded version I would definitely have gusset plates added like the newer drills are. It's not IF it will break, but WHEN & WHERE. On the road is not a good place.
