Subject: Case Ih 5500 soybean specials

Looking for info from owners on these rigs. I am presently looking for a 30 footer.
Some I have looked at have the hitch welded. Is that a week spot?? I presently have a 20ft 5400 which i have had for many trouble free years. I want to go to 15 inch rows with the planter units as they give better depth control which is really what I am looking for. Spacing of the seed within the row really is irrelavant to me. It has no effect on yield in narrow rows in soybeans becasue of there ability to compensate. But depth control I feel is important as i always notice that the planted beans in my plot emerge before the drill. In the fall the drill outyields the 30 anyway. I like to get my beans planted early and need the extra width to accomplish my planting date goals.
I like the hopper size of a drill ,easy to fill and you can cover alot of acres on a fill instead of messing with individual boxes.
Whats are used 30 footers bringing nowadays??
