| Most the time if you can find out what invoice is on a certain vehicle, the big volume dealers will let them go at that and keep their hold backs. Some situations against "rival" dealers they will dip into their hold backs. But definitely should be able to buy a car at invoice if a decent size dealer. Now invoice minus your trade price and you know what they are really allowing you on your vehicle. Don't get caught up on getting full retail for your car off the invoice. They do have to make some money in return for the risk of taking in your used.
Dealing on vehicles can be a real headache since most places teach the hard sale and teach their sales force to not give anything away.
