northeastern Ohio | There are some dealers putting new cars on eBay and craigslist with "special" internet pricing. I'm not sure how "special" their price actually is, but it is worth checking those places to get an idea of price ranges. Just make sure to read the fine print. Some dealers will shoot you a low price and then tack on a "document" fee of $250. In Ohio, the document fee is taxed too, so that adds to the cost. Also, our tax is based on the price before the rebates are taken off, so it pays to negotiate a lower starting price BEFORE rebates.
What model are you looking at? There are some "no haggle" dealers across the country that advertise on the internet too. Showing your dealer the "no haggle" price might help in your negotiations. | |
