Amherst WI
I have a lot but here are the highlight's

1. Farmers are stewards of the land, we need to take good care of it to get a crop and to have something for the future generations

2. We eat the same food city people do, meaning we eat GMO's, bovine growth implants, antibiotics, and stuff sprayed with pesticides, if we feel it is safe enough for our family it is safe enough for the general consumer.

3. May of us are only one extreme weather event away from financial ruin, we might be making record profits now but that is assuming that the weather cooperated. Many of us could buy 3 or 4 nice houses with what it costs to put a crop in, and we could lose that in one bad weather event.

4. Most farms are family owned, even the large or "corporate farms" as some may see it from the outside.

5. Less than 10% of what food costs goes to the farmer.

6. Be patient with farm machinery on the road, we don't want to be holding you up either but this is as fast as the machine goes.

7. Farming is more than throwing seeds out there and waiting for the government subsidy check to come in the mail. We use math, science, physics and several trades in our occupation on a daily basis, we aren't idiots or "country bumpkins".
