Subject: RE: When did Massey quit combines?

Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND
At the Minot ND ag show last winter,I got a chance to look over all the new combine offerings. I am sold on my old IH axial flow combines because they are such an uncomplicated and simple machine to repair, and are gentle threshing good runners with a lot of capacity. Looking at that mess of hydraulic pipes and chain drive on the left rear of the new 8010 gives me an instant headache. looks like a terrible mess of complicated machinery. One look at the new Massey rotor machine struck me as being as simple and uncomplicated as the old axial flow. Do they work as good as they look? If I was in the market for a new one,the Massey rotor machine is the one I would look at hardest. Now if we could only get an AGCO dealer less than 100 miles away. I still have CNH and JD dealers within 25 miles.
