Get a stainless steel tube.   Well worth the extra money because they insert way, way easier.  Put calf head between your legs, start inserting on the RIGHT side of the mouth angling to the LEFT as you go down, and rub the roof of the mouth to stimulate swallowing.  Get the tube in deep, it should go in up the the bottle on the end of the tube.  That's the only way I feed colostrum.  If it won't drink off the cow, I'm not going to fool around getting it to suck.
