Bulls with a high milk EPD have nothing to do with this! That EPD is related to your WW EPD and as far as EPD's go milk EPD maybe the most overrated. If that cow and calf will never leave the feedbunk then buy all means get all the +30 milk EPD bulls you can find, however if you are gonna feed your cows a high roughage ration which almost all beef cows are then you don't need to buy this kinda bull. If you take a +30 epd cow and put her on a hay ration she will wean the worst calf in the bunch. Personally I usually only pay attention to two EPD's BW and WW because thats what I sell. First and foremost I look at the bulls, if I like them the EPD's seem to fall right in line.
