Best to not feed anything else the first day unless you have colostrum. Anything they drink causes the gut to start closing, so you don't want to feed milk if the calf hasn't gotten colostrum unless there's never going to be any colostrum! Feeding milk on top of colostrum simply dilutes what colostrum they got. So best to let them go with what the cow had and make the most of it for the first 24 hrs. Then use some replacer as a supplement to the heifer's milk. Hopefully her milk will come up some over time.
